Because themoon is moving FAST enough to STAY in orbit is wjy The Moon is orbiting Earth. The Moon is also moving farterh away from earth while e earth's rotation rate is slowing because of conservation of momentum as well as energy and mass.. Apples fall on earth because Earth mass is so much greater than the masses of the individual apples. Yes Earth is moving toward the appeles mass when it is attched to the tree, but Earth's m *** is ov er whelomingly greater. That is why appe's fll to the ground.

The Moon IS constantly falling toward earth, bit it is moving in a direction PERPENDICULAR to the force of gravity from earth and center of mass of of the Earth Moon system whis is 1400 kilometers beneath Earth's surface. The Earth is NEV ER there for the Moon to impact earth. The Moon is moving fast enough to STAY in orbit.

Newton was not in London because he didn't want to get smallpox or plague or typhoid or cholera.

Actually this is just an old wive's tale, possibly started by Newton himself. Had an apple actually fallen on his head, it might have killed him. Most likely he saw an apple fall to the ground.

The moon moves too fast to hit the Earth. It is constantly missing, its lateral motion overpowering the downward pull of the Earth's gravity.
