2004 Volvo S60 2.0T common reliability problems?

Hi, so a I have just been delegated an S60 from my folks and I'm actually quite resistant to accept it because its not japanese (reliability wise). Considering am a fresh grad college kid who has well...a fresh grad salary.

Now I may need to know if there are some expected problems with this car?

    Stop worrying. Fix them as they come. Replace the plugs and timing belt (if equipped) NOW if they have not been replaced. Get the battery charged AND load tested. Check the fluids. Do the scheduled maintenance that has NOT been done. The car is 14 years old. Expect to so some fixing.

    And you have a freebie Volvo. You cannot complain. Many people your age are on the bus or driving 98 Neons.
